January 13

1930
First Mickey cartoon strip is released in the New York Mirror. The first comic was loosely based off of Plane Crazy which came out a few years earlier.

1934
Two things happened on this day and year. The first was a Mickey Mouse cartoon Shanghaied. It is about where Mickey and Minnie are captured on a pirate ship but they work together to get off of the ship. The second thing that happened was a Silly Symphony cartoon was released. The China Shop shows that once the china shop closes all the china pieces come to life!

1938
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs makes it's debut in a New York theatre. It premiered at Radio City Music Hall.

1939
New Donald Duck cartoon called Donald's Lucky Day. Donald tries to avoid bad omens all dayas it is Friday the 13th.

1961
Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus was born. While she was more known for her role on Seinfeld, she also voiced Rochelle in Planes and Princess Atta in A Bug's Life.

1977
Orlando Bloom, known as Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean was born on this day.

1990
Official dedication for Star Tours even though it has been open for a month.

1993
Ken Anderson, a Disney legend who helped write movies like Cinderella and The Jungle Book passes away at age 84.

2012
Beauty and the Beast 3D released in theatres.

2013
The 20th anniversary of Walt Disney World's marathon. Brave also won best animated feature at the Golden Globes.
